Imo pastor, friend arrested for rap£
A pastor from Umuobom in Ideato South Local Government Area, Imo State, Ikenna Emmanuel, and his friend Chizoba Franklin believed to be in a homos£xual relationship have been arrested for allegedly rap!ng a 20-year-old woman.
According to Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the Imo Police Command, the suspects lured the woman to Emmanuel’s residence on June 30, 2025, under the pretext of offering prayers.
She was reportedly given a drink that made her dizzy, after which both men allegedly sexually assaulted her.
“The suspects, Pastor Ikenna Emmanuel, 32, and Franklin Chizoba, confessed to the offence and admitted to engaging in homosexual acts,” Okoye said.
The pair was charged to court on August 12, 2025, and remanded at the Correctional Facility in Owerri pending trial.
In a separate incident, police arrested 39-year-old Ifeanyi Odinka of Amaifeke, Orlu, for allegedly stabbing his 75-year-old father, Denius Odinka, to death over a dispute about land sale proceeds. Okoye said the suspect confessed and has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Owerri for further investigation and prosecution.
