Iheanacho linked with turkish move

Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho may be set for another transfer before the summer window closes, with Turkish clubs, including Besiktas, reportedly exploring a deal.

The 28-year-old returned to Sevilla after a loan spell at Middlesbrough, where he scored one goal and provided two assists in the English Championship. Despite featuring in preseason, reports suggest he is not in the long-term plans of head coach Matias Almeyda.

Transfer reports indicate Besiktas and at least two other Süper Lig teams have contacted Sevilla over the possibility of signing the former Leicester City forward. Iheanacho is said to be open to the move, with Sevilla valuing him at €3 million — a profit on the free transfer that brought him to Spain in 2024.

A switch to Turkey would reunite Iheanacho with Wilfred Ndidi at Besiktas and see him join a growing list of Nigerian internationals in the Süper Lig, including Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu, and Henry Onyekuru.

Should talks fail to produce a permanent transfer, Sevilla could consider another loan move or retain Iheanacho for the 2025/26 season alongside compatriots Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke.
