Ibadan North Bye-election: APC candidate faces backlash over alleged distribution of sachet alcohol

…APC denies allegation, accuses PDP of spreading falsehoods
Ahead of the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Adewale Murphy Olatunji, is facing backlash over reports that sachet alcohol was handed out to residents as campaign gifts.
The alleged distribution has drawn criticism from local residents and civic organizations, who called it inappropriate and harmful given the community’s values and concerns about alcohol abuse.
However, the APC, through its Oyo State Public Relations Officer Olawale Sadare, has denied the claims.
Sadare accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of fabricating the story to derail the APC’s campaign.
He said, “we do not know anything about the said souvenir. It is a diversionary tactic but we remain focused on our issue-based campaigns ahead of the Saturday poll.
The bye-election is slated for Saturday, with political parties intensifying their efforts in the final days of campaigning.
