I make pepper soup with stolen goats at my beer parlour – 56-yr-old man arrested in Osun

A 56-year-old beer parlour operator, Ayo Akinpelu, has confessed to using stolen goats to prepare pepper soup for customers at his establishment in Ondo town.

Akinpelu was arrested by Amotekun operatives in Ipetu-Ijesa, Osun State, after residents tipped off security officials.

He was reportedly caught with a stolen goat hidden in his Lexus Jeep.

Community members, who had grown suspicious, stopped him and insisted on searching the vehicle. Upon discovery of the animal, he was handed over to the Amotekun Corps.

During interrogation, Akinpelu admitted to engaging in goat theft for more than seven years.

He explained that he usually lured the animals with salt before transporting them to Ondo for use in his beer parlour business.

“I used the stolen goats to prepare pepper soup, which I sold to unsuspecting customers at my beer parlour in Ondo town,” he confessed.

The Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun, Mr. Isaac Omoyele, confirmed the arrest, commending the vigilance of Ipetu-Ijesa residents and the swift response of operatives.
