The Super Falcons of Nigeria have arrived in Abuja following their victorious campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they clinched a record-extending 10th title.
The team, alongside officials, landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday afternoon to a warm reception from fans and supporters.
To celebrate their achievement, the Falcons will embark on a trophy parade across major parts of the Federal Capital Territory. The parade route includes Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market, allowing fans to join in the celebration.
Later in the day, the team will be hosted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Nigeria secured the championship with a dramatic 3-2 win over hosts Morocco in Saturday’s final, reaffirming their dominance in African women’s football.
