The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Thursday when the victim was taken from his residence at Upenme in Owo Local Government Area.

“This abduction is most regrettable and wholly condemnable. We strongly denounce this criminal act in its entirety,” the statement read.

While commending the state government for past efforts in tackling insecurity, the group urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to urgently activate all security mechanisms at his disposal to ensure Akesinro’s unconditional and safe release.

The statement further noted that kidnapping remains a grievous affront to human dignity, peace, and security, stressing that such acts inflict trauma on victims and their families while eroding public confidence in safety.
