Governor Makinde visits Fresh FM, commiserates with Yinka Ayefele over fire incident
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Saturday visited Fresh FM Ibadan to sympathise with the management and staff of the radio station following the fire outbreak that ravaged the station.
During the visit, Governor Makinde was received by the founder and Chairman of Fresh FM, Dr. Yinka Ayefele, who conducted him round parts of the facility affected by the incident.
The governor expressed his sympathy to Ayefele and the entire Fresh FM family, describing the station as a resilient brand that has consistently contributed to the growth of broadcasting in Oyo State and across Nigeria.
He commended the management and staff for their professionalism and assured them of government support in overcoming the setback.
“Fresh FM is a household name and a resilient media brand that has continued to add immense value not only to Oyo State but to Nigeria at large. On behalf of the people of Oyo State, I commiserate with Dr. Yinka Ayefele and the entire Fresh FM family over this unfortunate incident,” Makinde said.
He further pledged that his administration will continue to provide an enabling environment for businesses, especially those in the creative and media industries, to thrive.
Dr. Ayefele, while thanking the governor for the visit, expressed gratitude for the solidarity and support received from government, colleagues in the media, and the general public.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, while normal broadcast operations at Fresh FM have since resumed.
