Governor Alia forwards first batch of commissioner nominees to Benue Assembly

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has submitted the names of eight commissioner nominees to the Benue State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
This move comes less than 48 hours after Governor Alia dissolved dissolved his cabinet, relieving all commissioners and his Chief of Staff, Mr. Paul Biam, of their duties. He has since appointed Mr. Moses Atagher, a former banker, as the new Chief of Staff.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, the following individuals have been nominated:
Mrs. Theresa Ikwue
Dr. Benjamin Ashaver
Dr. Ijaguwa Adamu
Dr. Peter Egbodo
Dr. Yangien Ornguga
Mr. Denis Iyaighgba
Mr. James Dwem
Dr. Paul Ogwuche
“Governor Hyacinth Alia has transmitted the first batch of commissioner-nominees to the Benue State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in line with constitutional provisions,” the statement read.
The CPS added that this development reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and ensuring effective service delivery across all sectors.
He further noted that a second batch of nominees is expected to be forwarded to the House in the coming days.
“The Governor reaffirms his administration’s commitment to transparency, competence, and inclusivity in the selection of individuals who will drive his vision and mission for the state,” the statement concluded.
