Gov Oyebanji dissolves Ekiti State Executive Council, exempts key officials

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has announced the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.

The directive, contained in a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, was released late Sunday night.

Affected Commissioners and Special Advisers have been instructed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary or most senior civil servant in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

Governor Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service and wished them success in future endeavours.

The dissolution, however, spares certain officials, including the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, as well as the Commissioners for Health and Human Services; Agriculture and Food Security; Works; and Trade, Investment, Industry, and Cooperatives.

Also excluded are the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, the Special Adviser on Lands, Survey and e-GIS, and all Directors General in the Executive Council — specifically, the DG, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD); DG, SDGs and Project Monitoring; and DG, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
