Makinde visits late Olubadan’s residence, assures family of active role in burial plans

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to the Alalubosa residence of the late 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on July 7, 2025.
The governor was warmly received by members of the royal family, including Prince Sumbo Olakulehin, Prince Osuolale Olakulehin, Princess Olutosin Olakulehin, and Prince Akinwumi Olakulehin.
During the visit, Governor Makinde expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family and lauded the late monarch’s impactful reign. He assured the family of the state government’s full involvement in the burial plans, promising that the final rites would reflect the Olubadan’s revered status and the legacy he left behind.
Makinde emphasized the importance of honoring the late traditional ruler in a way befitting his contributions to Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole.
