Gov Aiyedatiwa swears in new commissioners

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Monday inaugurated the second batch of commissioners into the State Executive Council, with a strong reaffirmation of his administration’s dedication to accountability, transparency, and effective service delivery.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held in Akure, the state capital, Aiyedatiwa described the event as a crucial step in his administration’s journey to build a more prosperous and inclusive Ondo State.
“This ceremony marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to reposition our state for greater development. We believe in steady, purposeful governance anchored on consistency, progress, and measurable results,” the governor said.
He charged the newly sworn-in commissioners to immediately get to work, noting that public expectations are high and the administration cannot afford to fall short.
“The people of Ondo State have given us a clear mandate. They expect excellence, and we must not let them down. Within our first 100 days, we have shown that steady and focused leadership delivers real results,” Aiyedatiwa stated.
He also warned against undue influence or pressure from relatives and associates of the commissioners, emphasizing that public office must be approached with integrity and a sense of duty.
The governor highlighted his administration’s focus on continuity, citing the completion of inherited projects and the launch of new initiatives aimed at attracting investment and boosting the state’s economy.
“Our government stands firmly on the pillars of transparency, integrity, and excellence. We expect every member of the team to align with these values in delivering quality governance,” he added.
In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, described the appointments as strategic and people-oriented, praising the governor for selecting individuals with proven competence, integrity, and loyalty to the administration’s vision.
He urged the commissioners to see their roles as opportunities to make meaningful contributions to the state’s growth and development.
Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, Mr. Segun Omoyofunmi expressed appreciation to the governor for the confidence reposed in them, promising to serve with commitment and professionalism.
The newly inaugurated commissioners are: Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, Engr. Ayorinde Olawoye, Mr. Ayodele Akande, Engr. Alabi Johnson, Mr. Amidu Takuro, Mr. Adewale Akinlosotu, Mr. Idowu Ajanaku, Dr. Oluwaseun Osamaye, Mr. Tob Loko, Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, Hon. Sunday Olajide, Mr. Segun Omoyofunmi, Mr. Bola Ademuwagun, Mr. Leye Akinola, Dr. Banji Ajaka, and Mr. Adesoji Afolabi.
