Telecommunications giant, Globacom, has pledged to support Ondo State with cutting-edge digital solutions aimed at improving governance, education, and security.

The company’s Group Lead for Enterprise Business, Adeniyi Odejobi, made this known during a strategic meeting with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and top government officials in Akure.

Odejobi explained that Glo would deploy a Learning Management System (LMS) for students in secondary and tertiary institutions, with zero-rated access through its Glo Share sponsored data service. This means students will be able to access the platform without spending on data.

He added that the sponsored data service will also cover the state’s digital tax payment platform, enabling residents to pay levies online free of charge.

Beyond education and revenue collection, Globacom is also introducing its Glo Surveillance Solution, which uses facial biometrics and traffic management technology to enhance security. The company further promised to provide tracking for official vehicles to curb theft and misuse, alongside free-access Closed User Group lines for public servants to improve inter-ministerial communication.

Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed the initiative, noting that it aligns with his administration’s drive for digital governance. He highlighted the recently launched iOndo electronic tax collection system as a step already taken in that direction.
