Former President Muhammadu Buhari laid to rest in Daura

The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari were laid to rest on Tuesday in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, following a solemn military committal ceremony and Islamic burial rites.
Buhari was interred in his favourite spot within his private residence, shortly after Janazah prayers were led by the Chief Imam of Daura. The prayers were attended by a large crowd that included past and present leaders, politicians, and business figures.
The former Nigerian leader d!ed on Sunday at the age of 82 at a London clinic, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
In the wake of his death, President Bola Tinubu dispatched Vice President Kashim Shettima to the United Kingdom to oversee the repatriation of Buhari’s remains. Shettima, along with Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and members of Buhari’s family, accompanied the body back to Nigeria.
The funeral drew national and international attention, marking the end of an era for one of Nigeria’s most prominent political figures.
