FG warns public against fraudsters over forfeited EFCC estate
The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (FMHUD) has cautioned Nigerians to beware of fraudsters attempting to exploit the planned sale of 753 housing units recently forfeited to the Federal Government by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC had in May 2025 handed over the properties to the government. At the official handover, the Minister of Housing, Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, announced that the houses would be sold to interested Nigerians through a transparent and competitive process, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
However, in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Badamasi Haiba, stressed that no individual or corporate organisation had been authorised to market or sell the houses on behalf of the ministry.
The ministry urged members of the public to disregard any claims to the contrary and await official guidelines on the sales process.
