FG sacks 15 correctional service officers for misconduct

The Federal Government has dismissed 15 personnel of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) over serious misconduct and breach of service regulations.
The spokesperson of the Service, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) Abubakar Umar, disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday. He explained that the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) reviewed 231 disciplinary cases brought before it by the Disciplinary and General Purpose Committee (BDGPC) after thorough investigations and due process.
According to Umar, the Board approved various sanctions to uphold discipline and integrity within the Service. Out of the cases reviewed, 15 officers were dismissed, 59 had their ranks reduced for confirmed violations of professional standards, while 42 others received written warnings.
