EPL: Chelsea crush West Ham to go top
Chelsea came from behind to hammer West Ham 5-1 at the London Stadium on Friday, climbing to the top of the Premier League table.
Lucas Paqueta fired the hosts in front with a superb strike, but Joao Pedro quickly equalised before goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez turned the game in Chelsea’s favour before half-time.
Second-half mistakes from new West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen gifted the visitors two more goals, with Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah sealing a comprehensive win.
The result puts Chelsea top of the league for the first time since December 2021, while West Ham boss Graham Potter is already under pressure after back-to-back heavy defeats.
