EPL: Arsenal thrash Leeds to go top
Arsenal cruised to the Premier League summit with a 5-0 demolition of Leeds United at the Emirates on Saturday.
Jurrien Timber opened the scoring with a header from Declan Rice’s corner before Bukayo Saka added a second before half-time.
Viktor Gyökeres struck his first Arsenal goal with a solo effort after the restart, Timber bundled in his second, and Gyökeres sealed the rout from the spot after Max Dowman was fouled.
The win, coming after the pre-match unveiling of new signing Eberechi Eze to the home fans, leaves Mikel Arteta’s side with two wins from two, six goals scored and none conceded.
