Ekiti: Police speak on viral video of officers breaking into home
The Nigeria Police Force Complaint Response Unit (CRU) has reacted to a viral video showing officers from the “Operation Flush” squad allegedly forcing their way into a private residence in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The video, posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user @MichaelFrosh32, accused the officers of attempting a broad-daylight robbery at a house located in the Adebayo area of the city. He called on police authorities to take disciplinary action against those involved.
Responding via its official handle, the CRU acknowledged the report and requested further details to enable a proper investigation.
“Dear @MichaelFrosh32, kindly provide more details via DM. Thank you for bringing this to the attention of the Police Force. #NoToImpunity,” the CRU tweeted.
According to the police, an internal investigation will be initiated once all relevant information is received to determine what transpired.
The video has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians demanding accountability and justice.
