EFCC declares Sujimoto CEO wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Olasijibomi Ogundele, chief executive officer of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, wanted over alleged fund diversion and money laundering.
The anti-graft agency announced the development in a notice signed by its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, and posted on its official social media platforms on Friday.
According to the EFCC, Mr Ogundele, 44, is wanted in connection with a case of diversion of funds and money laundering. His last known address was listed as G29, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
“The public is hereby notified that Olasijibomi Suji Ogundele of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the EFCC in an alleged case of diversion of funds and money laundering,” the statement read.
The commission urged Nigerians with credible information about Mr Ogundele’s whereabouts to contact its offices across the country.
In October 2024, Mr Ogundele was arrested by the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID) in Abuja over an alleged $325,000 fraud involving a property deal.
The investigation followed a petition filed by lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi on behalf of a client, Kabiru Garba Ibrahim, who alleged that Mr Ogundele collected $325,000 — representing 50 per cent of the cost of a three-bedroom flat at LeonardoBySujimoto Homes — in November 2020, but neither delivered the property nor refunded the payment.
Mr Ogundele denied the fraud allegation, attributing delays to Nigeria’s economic downturn and naira depreciation.
Meanwhile, activist Scott Iguma said on Instagram that Mr Ogundele had also failed to settle another debt of $1.9 million since 2020, adding to allegations of fraudulent real estate dealings.
