The Dangote Refinery will begin its nationwide free fuel distribution on Monday, starting with Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo states.

Anthony Chiejina, spokesperson for the Dangote Group, said the initiative aims to ease the financial burden on Nigerians by providing fuel at reduced prices. Petrol will retail at N841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, and N851 per litre in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta.

Over 1,000 trucks have been deployed to kick-start the programme, with additional states to benefit as more vehicles arrive. The refinery is also introducing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks to improve logistics and reduce distribution costs.

Originally slated for August, the scheme was delayed due to logistical challenges in China. Despite the setback, Dangote remains committed to ensuring affordable fuel for Nigerians.
