Comfort Emmanson: Why KWAM 1 was not prosecuted – NCAA
K1 De Ultimate, Comfort Emmanson
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has clarified that Wasiu Ayinde, known as K1 de Ultimate, was not taken to court by ValueJet.
This is unlike Comfort Emmanson, a passenger with Ibom Air, who was arrested and charged for unruly behavior.
According to NCAA spokesperson Michael Achimugu, the NCAA did not sue either K1 de Ultimate or Comfort Emmanson.
In K1 de Ultimate’s case, since the airline did not take legal action, the NCAA referred the matter to the Attorney General and the police for prosecution.
But Ibom Air quickly arrested and charged Comfort Emmanson in court.
The NCAA said it has no power to prosecute and only got involved in K1 de Ultimate’s case because the airline did not.
Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate, had called the treatment of Emmanson “double standards” after she was immediately remanded.
