Comfort Emmanson: Ibom air passenger breaks silence after prison release

Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger recently cleared of all charges by an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, has expressed gratitude to friends and supporters following her release from Kirikiri Prison.

In a statement posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Emmanson thanked those who stood by her during her detention, acknowledging the emotional and physical toll of the experience.

“Thank you so much for all the prayers, love, and support. I’ve been released from prison, but I’m still in pain due to how I was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give my own version of events. Thank you so much, my lovely friends and supporters. I really appreciate you all from the bottom of my heart. God bless you all. Thank you, my great God!” she wrote.

Her message came hours after Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge against her at the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba.

The charges had alleged that she caused a disturbance aboard an Ibom Air flight, assaulted a crew member, and acted in a way likely to breach public peace.

The case was withdrawn after both the complainant and the airline stated they were no longer interested in pursuing it, leading to her formal discharge.
