Chuba Akpom joins Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town have signed Chuba Akpom on loan from Ajax for the 2025/26 campaign, with a mandatory purchase clause activated if the club secures promotion to the Premier League.
Akpom becomes the Sky Bet Championship side’s sixth summer signing, beating competition from Birmingham City and Middlesbrough for his signature.
The 29-year-old has endured a difficult spell at Ajax since joining from Middlesbrough two years ago. He spent the latter half of last season on loan at French side Lille, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 14 league games.
Akpom is no stranger to English football, having previously played for Hull City and Middlesbrough, where he won the Championship Golden Boot two years ago.
