CAF recognises Nigeria's Ejike Uzoenyi as one of CHAN’s greatest players

Former Super Eagles winger,
Ejike Uzoenyi, has been honoured by the
Confederation of African Football (CAF) as one of the standout performers
in the history of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Uzoenyi earned his place on the prestigious list for his exceptional display at the 2014 CHAN tournament in
South Africa, where he helped Nigeria secure a third-place finish.

Prior to that, he was part of the national team that won the
2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The recognition comes as CAF builds up to the 2024 edition of CHAN, which kicks off today (Saturday).

The list celebrates players who have made significant contributions to the competition since its inception.

Others featured include Tresor Mputu Mabi of DR Congo, Zouheir Dhaouadi of
Tunisia, Meschack Elia (2016), Ayoub El Kaabi (2018), Soufiane Rahimi (2020), and Houssem Eddine Mrezigue, who was named the best player at the most recent edition.

Uzoenyi’s inclusion highlights his lasting impact on the tournament and cements his legacy in African football.
