Bruno Fernandes scores late penalty to give Manchester United win over Burnley
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes scored an injury-time penalty to secure a 3-2 victory over Burnley at Old Trafford, giving Ruben Amorim’s team three important points.
United had looked set to drop points after another goalkeeping mistake from Altay Bayindir, which allowed Jaidon Anthony to score Burnley’s second equaliser.
The winning moment came in stoppage time when Anthony pulled Amad’s shirt in the penalty area. Referee Sam Barrott initially let play continue, but VAR instructed him to review the incident. After four minutes, Barrott awarded the penalty.
Fernandes, who had missed a penalty against Fulham a week earlier, calmly converted into the bottom corner to secure the dramatic win for Manchester United.
