The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced a temporary shutdown of its result-checking portal, www.waecdirect.org, due to technical difficulties.

The development was confirmed both on the Council’s official website and in a text message from WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina.

In a public statement, WAEC said: “WAEC hereby informs the general public that the result checker portal www.waecdirect.org, is temporarily shut down due to technical issues. However, the Council is working assiduously to ensure that candidates can access their results in the next 24 hours. We apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused you.”
