BREAKING: Ex-NNPCL boss, Mele Kyari submits self to EFCC

Former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, on Wednesday submitted himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Kyari arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja around 2:15 p.m. following an invitation to answer questions relating to financial and technical matters during his tenure.
The development comes amid an ongoing probe into the $7.2 billion refineries’ turnaround maintenance project, for which the EFCC had earlier placed Kyari on its watch list.
In a related move, the Federal High Court in Abuja recently ordered the temporary freezing of four bank accounts linked to Kyari over alleged fraud.
