BREAKING: Benue Assembly gets new Speaker

Hon. Alfred Emberga has officially taken the oath of office as the new Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.
The swearing-in took place on Sunday, shortly after the former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh, resigned his position earlier in the day.
Emberga’s elevation to the leadership of the Assembly follows days of political tension, with Dajoh stepping down “in good faith and in the best interest of the state.”
The new Speaker is expected to steer the Assembly through the ongoing crisis and restore stability to the legislative arm of government.
