Atiku, El-Rufai, Imoke visit Olubadan days after coronation

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke were among the high-profile dignitaries who paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at his palace on Tuesday, September 30.

The visit comes just days after the coronation of the 44th Olubadan, marking his first major reception of prominent political figures since ascending the throne.

During the visit, Atiku Abubakar, while congratulating the monarch, apologized for not attending the coronation.

He expressed happiness over Oba Ladoja’s ascension and prayed for a prosperous reign and long life for the Olubadan.

Oba Ladoja, on his part, welcomed his guests and engaged in discussions emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration between political leaders and traditional institutions in fostering development in Ibadan and the wider region.
