Arsenal officially sign Eberechi Eze

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of England midfielder Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, with the 27-year-old penning a long-term contract at the Emirates.

Eze returns to north London, where he began his youth career with the Gunners before moving to QPR in 2016. He broke through during the 2019/20 season, winning QPR’s Player of the Year, and later established himself at Palace after joining in 2020.

During five seasons at Selhurst Park, Eze made over 150 appearances and famously scored the winner in Palace’s FA Cup final victory against Manchester City earlier this year.

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta hailed the move as a “major coup,” while manager Mikel Arteta described Eze as a “powerful and exciting player” who will bring fresh attacking quality.

Capped 11 times by England and part of the Euro 2024 squad, Eze will wear Arsenal’s No. 10 shirt and is expected to join the squad after this weekend’s clash with Leeds United, pending approval.
