Ahmed Musa sets bold revival plan for Kano Pillars, targets league title

Super Eagles captain and new General Manager of Kano Pillars, Ahmed Musa, has unveiled an ambitious nine-point agenda aimed at restoring the club’s dominance in Nigerian football.

Speaking during a media parley at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Thursday, Musa declared his commitment to transforming the fortunes of the team and called on fans and corporate bodies to rally behind the club.

“I come with a nine-point agenda to revive the glory of Kano Pillars,” Musa said. “This season, we are going for the trophy. I’m urging all sports lovers in Kano to support us fully, and I assure you we’re already taking steps to avoid last season’s mistakes.”

While admitting the challenge of juggling his new administrative role with active play, Musa assured of a clear structure and professionalism.

“On the pitch, I remain a player—subject to the coach’s authority. But outside the pitch, I’m the General Manager. There’s a clear line between both roles,” he clarified.

Musa also stressed the importance of financial backing, noting that fan support and corporate sponsorship would be crucial to the club’s revival.

“With the support of our fans, we don’t have to rely solely on the government. Their passion, combined with proper branding, will take us far,” he stated.

He also highlighted recent improvements in the club’s digital presence, describing its growing social media activity as a sign of positive change.

“We’ve already started contacting companies for sponsorship. With time and commitment, I believe we’ll secure the backing we need,” Musa added.
