Senegal’s men’s basketball team ended Nigeria’s Afrobasket campaign on Wednesday, defeating D’Tigers 91–75 in the quarterfinals in Luanda, Angola.

The victory came just weeks after Nigeria’s D’Tigresses had beaten Senegal in the women’s Afrobasket final, with the Senegalese men exacting revenge in style.

D’Tigers edged the first quarter 24–23, but Senegal responded with a dominant second quarter, winning 30–18 to lead 53–42 at halftime.

The third quarter proved even tougher for Nigeria, as they trailed by another 10 points, 23–13. Though D’Tigers rallied in the fourth quarter with a 20–15 win, it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit.

Senegal’s Brancou Badio was the standout performer, dropping 32 points with an efficiency rating of 29 percent.

In contrast, Nigeria’s NBA star Josh Okogie, who had scored 33 points in a previous group game, was restricted to just four points.

Despite the defeat, Nigeria still hold a narrow 5–4 advantage in the overall head-to-head record between the two sides.
