Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has appealed to security agencies to remain neutral and professional in the state’s political affairs, warning that Osun must not be turned into a political battleground despite being the home state of President Bola Tinubu.

The governor made the call on Thursday during the decoration of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), DSP Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, at the Government House in Osogbo.

The event was attended by the state’s Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan; NSCDC Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo; FRSC Sector Commander, Leye Adegboyega, and other security chiefs.

Adeleke commended the police for upholding professionalism, praising the Inspector-General of Police and the Osun State Police Command for their discipline and leadership. He specifically lauded CP Gotan for promoting peace and order in the state.

The governor also congratulated his ADC on his promotion, describing him as a disciplined and loyal officer who represents the Nigeria Police well. He further acknowledged the sacrifices of security operatives, calling the Force a vital institution that deserves respect and appreciation.

In his remarks, CP Gotan congratulated DSP Abdulraman and urged him to see his promotion as a call to greater responsibility.

He assured the governor that the command would continue to uphold fairness, respect human rights, and maintain peace in Osun.
