ADC expels Nafiu Bala, sacks 3 officials in Gombe over anti-party activities

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State has expelled a member, Nafiu Bala, and removed three senior officials from their positions over alleged indiscipline and anti-party activities.

The State Chairman of the party, Malam Auwal Abba Barde, disclosed this during a press briefing in Gombe, explaining that the decision followed recommendations by various disciplinary committees after weeks of investigation.

According to him, Bala, who recently proclaimed himself as the National Chairman of the ADC, was expelled by the Nasarawo Ward Disciplinary Committee in Gombe Local Government Area for gross misconduct, factionalization, and misrepresentation of the party’s leadership.

“By parading himself as the National Chairman of the ADC, Nafiu Bala created confusion and division within our party. Such actions undermine our unity and progress,” Barde said.

He added that Bala had been duly invited, both personally and through a national newspaper publication, to defend himself before the committee but failed to appear.

Barde also announced that the State Executive Committee ratified the removal of three top officials: the State Deputy Chairman, Nasiru Lawan; the State Secretary, Danladi Ya’u; and the State Youth Leader, Abdulkadir Sa’idu, popularly known as Digiri.

He stressed that the disciplinary actions were necessary to send a strong signal that disloyalty and sabotage would not be condoned within the party.

“As the political drums beat louder ahead of 2027, the ADC is determined to secure more seats in Gombe State and beyond. These incidents are setbacks, but they will not break us,” Barde assured.
