Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has openly declared his strong support for President Bola Tinubu during a visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

Describing the meeting as “very pleasant,” Soludo praised President Tinubu’s vibrant health and upbeat spirit. He emphasized their 22-year friendship as a foundation for his endorsement.

“I have no apologies for backing him. President Tinubu has been my friend for over two decades, and you don’t turn your back on a friend. I support him wholeheartedly, especially his bold economic and structural reforms,” Soludo stated. “We are on the right path and must remain committed.”

When questioned about supporting a president outside his political party, Soludo highlighted the importance of a united progressive front. “The progressive parties must come together in a broad coalition to strengthen our democracy and drive economic and social growth,” he said, referencing ongoing efforts for unity.

On tackling insecurity in Anambra, Soludo outlined a balanced strategy combining “kinetic and non-kinetic” methods.

He mentioned the enforcement of the Homeland Security Law passed earlier this year and targeted operations against criminal networks exploiting young people.

“Our non-kinetic efforts focus on empowering youths through job creation,” Soludo explained. “Our skills training program has already helped about 5,000 youths, with many more soon to benefit financially. We aim to create thousands of youth millionaires within three years, ensuring active youth involvement.”
