2027: Supporters demand Jonathan’s return, storm PDP headquarters

Supporters of former President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday staged a protest in Abuja, calling for his return to active politics.

The demonstrators, who marched to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat while the party’s National Executive Committee meeting was ongoing, carried placards with inscriptions such as “Goodluck, come back and save Nigeria.”

They argued that Jonathan has the capacity to address Nigeria’s current challenges and urged him to contest the 2027 presidential election on the PDP platform.

Although some PDP stakeholders are said to be lobbying him to fly the party’s flag, the former president has remained silent on the matter.
