2027: Return to PDP – Bauchi Gov Bala Mohammed begs Peter Obi

Bauchi State Governor and PDP Governors Forum Chairman, Bala Mohammed, has publicly invited former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking during Obi’s visit to Bauchi Government House, Mohammed praised Obi’s “new brand of politics” focused on constructive engagement and people-centered governance.

Mohammed highlighted Obi’s past achievements in healthcare and education as governor of Anambra State and stressed the need for opposition unity to challenge the ruling APC government’s perceived failures. “The opposition — PDP, ADC, SDP, LP — must come together to rescue Nigeria,” he said, urging Obi to “come back to PDP. That’s where you belong.”

In response, Obi emphasized the importance of collaboration and transforming Nigeria’s political culture towards development, competence, and compassion.

During his visit, Obi also donated a total of ₦15 million to nursing and Islamic education institutions in Bauchi and engaged with student leaders, reaffirming his commitment to serving only one presidential term if elected.
