The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning to prominent party members openly endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, cautioning that such actions amount to anti-party activities and could attract severe sanctions.

In a statement by National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the NWC said the endorsements violate Section 10(6) of the PDP Constitution, which prohibits members from aligning with other parties in ways that undermine the PDP.

The warning follows recent public declarations of support for Tinubu by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke; former Ogun governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu; and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, among others.

According to the NWC, such endorsements have deepened internal divisions and fuelled defections, threatening the party’s unity and electoral prospects.

It demanded immediate retractions and reaffirmed loyalty to the party ahead of the PDP National Convention scheduled for November 15–16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
