The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has clarified that the party has not endorsed any individual for the presidency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Tuesday during a stakeholder meeting with the Kogi State chapter of the ADC in Abuja, Mark emphasized that the party remains neutral and open to all credible aspirants.

He stated that the ADC, which is emerging as a new coalition force in the opposition, will prioritize transparency, inclusiveness, and integrity in its internal processes as it prepares for the upcoming electoral season.

According to the former Senate President, “The ADC has no preferred or favourite presidential aspirant. Our priority is to build a platform that will be attractive and acceptable to the majority of Nigerians.”

Mark also stressed the importance of national unity, warning that the country’s continued instability could endanger its future if political leaders fail to rise to the occasion.

“We do not want this great ship called Nigeria to sink, because if it does, all of us will be affected. We must act with a sense of urgency and responsibility,” he said.

He described every member of the party as a co-owner and equal stakeholder, urging them to put aside personal ambitions and work collectively toward strengthening the party at all levels.

Mark further advised politicians across party lines to avoid divisive rhetoric and instead focus on addressing key national challenges such as insecurity, which the ADC has promised to tackle decisively if elected to power.

The meeting was part of ongoing consultations by the party leadership to mobilize grassroots support and engage with members ahead of the 2027 elections.
