2027: Datti Baba-Ahmed speaks on working with Amaechi
Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, has described ex-Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, as a “good guy” he could consider working with ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Baba-Ahmed made the remark on Friday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, while reacting to discussions on the coalition recently unveiled under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The Kaduna-born politician, who earlier dismissed the opposition coalition on the ADC platform, said Amaechi stood out among political figures he might align with outside of his former principal, Mr Peter Obi.
“Rotimi Amaechi is a good guy. He is one of those I can adopt,” Datti Baba-Ahmed stated.
Reports indicate that the ADC coalition is being driven by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Amaechi, ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, and Obi, among others.
However, Baba-Ahmed clarified that despite acknowledging Amaechi, he had no intention of working with the opposition bloc under the ADC platform.
